Yesterday was a fantastic day at our school as students in grades 7–12 came together for the culminating event of a month-long team-building experience organized by our school counselor, her intern team, and our art teacher. Over the past four weeks, students worked in specially arranged groups — with people they don't always get the chance to connect with — to come up with a team name, design a team flag, create team shirts, and finally compete head-to-head in a series of fun challenges including marshmallow tower building, a water bottle reach game, and a marker race. Teams could also earn bonus points by performing original team cheers — and a few creative groups even worked in a birthday shoutout for a certain principal whose special day happened to fall right on event day! It was a joy to watch our students laugh, cheer each other on, and build new friendships, and we are so proud of everyone who made this day such a memorable one.
