Dear Big Sandy Parents/Guardians and Community Members:
Tonight, Big Sandy School District and numerous schools across Montana received an emailed bomb threat stating that bombs had been placed in schools. We believe at least 75 school districts are affected. We have consulted law enforcement and, although we do not see this as a credible threat, Chouteau County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Echols and I searched both campuses thoroughly and did not discover anything out of place or suspicious. Unless we hear otherwise from law enforcement, we are planning to hold school as usual tomorrow (January 17th) I recognize that violent threats of this nature can cause anxiety and concern for our students and their families and want you to know that we take all threats seriously. I am incredibly appreciative of local law enforcement for their efforts in reaching out to me this evening and for their support of our school district and its staff and students.
Respectfully,
Daniel Schrock

Dear Parents, Guardians, and the Big Sandy Community:
As your Superintendent I wanted to write and inform you of the changes to travel plans as it relates to this upcoming weekend in light of the extreme temperatures hitting the Hi Line and Montana. I have decided to err on the side of caution and ensure that we are keeping our staff and students safe. As such the scheduled trip to PBS in Bozeman has been cancelled for our choir students, the wrestling trip to Fairfield and Choteau has also been cancelled. The Basketball games on Friday (here against Fort Benton) and Saturday ( in Box Elder) have moved up and will start at Noon each of those days. The School Calendar has been updated to reflect these changes.
Thank you for respecting the decisions that have been made that honor my first priority, to keep our students and staff as safe as possible.
-Mr. Schrock
